Marvel Comics has announced a new retro Halloween mask variant cover in time for Halloween. These covers will be featured in a variety of upcoming titles!
Drawn by artist James Kerrigan, this exciting variant cover program depicts a Marvel character cutout mask inspired by the classic Halloween mask of the 1960s. The publisher, a callback when comic book fans around the world dressed up to their favorite Halloween Marvel superheroes, celebrates this legacy by going back to where it all began with these fun illustrations!
“Working on this cover series was an explosion as I put together two things that I love so deeply: Marvel and Halloween,” Kerrigan said. “There’s a nostalgic charm to Halloween decorations in the 70s. In particular, the vacuum cleaner costume masks that served as an inspiration for this project. They were delighted to order that retro, slightly creepy charm in a way that celebrates both the season and the art!”
All 15 retro Halloween mask variant covers are features of these upcoming titles by Marvel Comics.
