Mad Cave Studios is pleased to announce String, a new supernatural comic series from Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Tobin (Bandette, Bunny Mask) and artist Carlos Olivares, with colors by Sara Colella and letters by Taylor Esposito.
Read more from the publisher:
Yoon-sook Nam-goong is a 25-year-old Korean-American woman who has the uncanny ability to see two types of “threads” that connect different people. The first is blue and stretches between sexual partners. The second is jet black and connects murderers to victims. If you have a murder case you need to solve, Yoon can help you. Worried that your partner is cheating on you? Yoon can literally see the connections. Yoon’s life was going well, despite the drama and constant TMI. At least, until she notices a thread that connects her to herself: a black thread! This means that she will soon either kill someone or get killed herself! So… oh well. Which is it?
Tobin says:
I’ve always been fascinated by the differences in the way people see the world, and Yoon is the culmination of my interests. She can see connections others can’t see; secrets others can’t know.
Stepping into her world has been fun, but also intimidating! And working with Carlos has been the best part of it all, because he and I are doing exactly what I talk about: dealing with the same world in different ways! Every time he submits a piece, I’m like, “Wow! I didn’t expect that! But he’s right!”
Olivares adds:
String takes you away from reality and draws you into a story filled with amazing characters.
It’s pure entertainment, with plenty of situations and story developments that will draw you in. Paul’s fun film is fresh and action packed. I’m really excited to share it with you all. I know you’ll have a great time.
Cover A for String #1 by Carlos Javier Olivares and Cover B by Eden Chyun are available for pre-order on the official Mad Cave Studios website and will be available at your local comic book store on November 13th, 2024.
