Probably everyone has had this fear at least once. There is life here, and someday aliens will beam down and kidnap them. Author and illustrator Adam Jim similarly decided to shed light on that fear in his debut graphic novel, Little Visitor & Other Abductions (published by Oni Press).
This graphic novel is a collection of Szym’s Ignaz Award- and Bram Stoker Award-nominated graphic novella “A Heartfelt Invitation” and two new stories about humans’ encounters with extraterrestrials. Little Visitor & Other Abductions will be released in August 2025.

The story of The Little Visitor and Other Kidnappings is about a lonely girl searching for her father who discovers something even stranger and more frightening. Here’s an overview:
The cast and crew of an unknown film recount the tragedy that occurred during its doomed production. As a young girl searches for her father in the darkness of the desert, she stumbles upon an otherworldly cocktail party. As the village’s harvest festival approaches, two strangers develop violent thoughts in a bitter and lonely child. Connecting these three stories is one terrifying theme…
“The fear that we or our loved ones will be consumed and absorbed by something we don’t understand, supernatural or not, remains in the peripheral vision of many. ” Jim said in a statement. “I’m excited to share this collection of stories that tap into my childhood fears and the anxieties that still permeate our society today.”
Little Visitor & Other Abductions will be on bookshelves in August 2025.
