Marvel Comics has announced Storm: Lifedream, a voice special commemorating February’s Black History Month and the 50th anniversary of the character’s first appearance in 1975’s Giant-Sized X-Men #1. Contributors include writers Angelique Rocher, Curtis Baxter, Brittney Morris, and John Jennings, as well as artists Karen S. Darbo and Edwin Garmon, to be announced at a later date. .

Like other Marvel’s Voices features, this book features an all-Black lineup of creators. Roche is the creator of the podcast “Marvel’s Voices” and previously worked with Jennings on the Marvel history book “My Super Hero is Black.” Jennings previously contributed to the company’s Silver Surfer: Ghost Light, Marvel Super Stories, and this year’s Marvel’s Voices: Legends special.
Curtis Baxter is an Afro-Caribbean animation and video game writer who made his Marvel Comics debut with this year’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual, and Britney Morris is the author of the prose novel Spider-Man: Miles Morales – Fury I wrote the first part of ‘Tsubasa no Tsubasa’. For Insomniac Games release in 2020. Karen S. Darboe writes Bloodline: Daughter of Blade and various other Marvel Voices comics, including 2024’s Avengers Academy Infinity Comics, while Edwin Garmon is the main author. He has been in charge of the cover of Marvel. This is his first interior work for a publishing company.
Storm: Lifedream #1 will be released on January 29, 2025, with a main cover by Taurin Clarke and a variant by Lucas Werneck, Storm’s currently solo ongoing series artist. You can check it out below. In the meantime, the first two issues of her major solo series, written by Murewa Ayodele, are currently available on digital and comic bookstores, with the third issue scheduled for release on December 11th.
