Dark Horse Comics has announced Tomb Raider: Sacred Artifacts, a new series starring Lara Croft written by Casey Gilly (Buffy The Last Vampire Slayer). Earlier next year, the four-part adventure will see Lara hunting worldwide for “dangerous and familiar artifacts” that strangers hug after Croft Manners burned out and destroyed.
Tomb Raider: Sacred Artifacts #1 Cover by Taurin Clarke
When Croft Manor gets into flames, it forces Lara to stock her life and understand what’s important to her. However, confrontation with a mysterious enemy who has acquired a dangerous and familiar artifact causes Lara to set out on a journey across the continent, where she does her best, raids the tomb and explores the legendary artifacts.
Issue #1 was released on January 14th, 2026 and has the main Taurinklerk cover. The comic is the first in the Tomb Raider franchise since Jackson Lantz, Colin Kelly and Philip Sevie’s Inferno. It was released in 2018 to match the Shadows of Tomb Raider, the final video game in the series.
In the meantime, you can read an exclusive preview on Freak Sugar and will be engrossed in all future Tomb Raider releases, including the second and final seasons of the animated Netflix series The Legend of Lara Croft (arrived December 11th).
(By the way, if you’re wondering about the franchise’s next game, or the Amazon Prime series created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and starring Sophie Turner, the former hasn’t been revealed yet, but the latter will begin filming in January.)
