Christmas is just days away for DC Comics fans, with the release of the first Superman trailer from director James Gunn.
The film stars David Corenswet as the title character and Rachel Brosnahan plays the intrepid reporter Lois Lane.
In addition to Corren Sweat and Brothahan, the film also stars Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabella Merced as Hawk Girl, Maria Gabriela de Faria as Engineer, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Metamorpho as Metamorpho. Anthony Carrigan, Eddie Gattesi as Mr. Terrific, Jimmy Olsen, Sarah Sampaio (Eve Teschmach) Terrence Rosemore as Otis, Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Nevaeh Howell as Martha Kent, Steve Beck Bennett as Lombard, Michaela Huber as Cat Grant, Christopher McDonald as Ron’s Troupe
It’s safe to say that Warner Bros. has been promoting trailers for the past week. Considering how much the fledgling DC Studios is riding on the success of this latest Man of the Steel movie, expect it to go all out next year.
While the movie’s plot details are still being kept under wraps, the Superman trailer gave fans a first look at much of what we’ve been excited about. Most of all, I think we can all agree that seeing Crypto in live-action form is more than a little joy. Considering this is a James Gunn project, it’s no surprise that he would feature his love interests and animals, and explore the more outlandish elements of the Superman mythos.
We also got the first official footage of Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner Green Lantern, sporting his trademark bowl cut, Isabel Merced as Hawkgirl, and Eddie Gategi as Mister Terrific. You can also see a brief close-up shot of Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.

Superman hits theaters on July 11, 2025.
