KATABASIS descends into the underworld with a dynamic cover

Darkening the entrance to a jolly holiday season, Katabasis is a fantasy horror story about a mercenary who descends into the underworld to save souls. Published by BlackBox Comics, Katabasis comes from the creative minds of writer Damien Becton (Worlds Away and Tales from Nottingham #5) and artist Rodrigo Rocha (Black, White & Bloodshot), with lettering by Dezi Sienty and coloring by Salvador Pomar.

The title of this series is no doubt fitting, as in Greek “katabasis” means “descent,” and in Greek mythology this usually refers to the protagonist’s journey down to the underworld. Likewise, the word can mean a withdrawal, especially the withdrawal of an army.

The four covers illustrated by Rocha can be seen below.

” Katabasis is one of the most unique concepts we’ve come up with in a long time,” said publisher Dimitrios Zaharakis. “We’re incredibly excited about Juniper’s story and how it unfolds in surprising and unexpected ways. We expect her adventures to continue for a while, but it all starts here!”

“Katabasis” is scheduled for release on December 25, 2024.
