Marvel Comics has revealed that author J. Michael Straczynski will feature heroes from across the Marvel Universe in a new one-shot series in 2025. When Doctor Doom and Rocket Raccoon team up to launch on January 22nd, each issue features an unexpected team-up or action-packed showdown!

The new one-shot is said to be in the spirit of Jonathan Hickman and Sanford Green’s Doom and Chip Zdarsky and Daniel Acuña’s Avengers: Twilight. One-shot artists include Bernard Chan, Will Robson, Elena Casagrande, German Peralta, Juan Ferreira, and Phil Noto.

New York, NY — October 11, 2024 — Prolific author J. Michael Straczynski is known for his outstanding work, including critically acclaimed works such as The Amazing Spider-Man, Thor, and Fantastic Four. His storytelling skills have graced nearly every corner of the Marvel Universe. See where Straczynski’s imagination takes him next as he writes a new line of standalone one-shots with two Marvel icons of his choice, starting this January, including unexpected team-ups and action-packed showdowns. Let’s follow what’s going on.

In the spirit of recent best-selling comics such as Jonathan Hickman and Sanford Greene’s Doom and Chip Zdarsky and Daniel Acuña’s Avengers: Twilight, Straczynski’s new one-shots will appeal to both new and long-time readers. Readers alike spoke to all the fans about today’s most beloved Marvel characters. Joining Straczynski is a line-up of incredible artistic talent, including Will Robson, Bernard Chan, Elena Casagrande, Germán Peralta, Juan Ferreira, and Phil Noto.

Straczynski and Robson kick things off with Doom & Rocket Raccoon. What awaits the rocket in Latveria? Pranks, misunderstandings, and an emotional journey across space and time in powerful Marvel fashion! Following that, Volstagg recruits Straczynski and Chang’s Captain America & Volstagg freedom fighters. When war breaks out in the Nine Realms, Volstagg of the Warrior Three turns to the only skilled man who can end the war: Steve Rogers, Captain America.

And that’s just the beginning. See below for a complete list of titles and pairings!

“I like to go to fun places, and the idea of bringing together Marvel characters who have never been paired together before, or who have only minimally been paired together, seemed like a lot of fun. , I had even more fun than I expected,” Straczynski explained. “For the first time in China, we get to see the original Nick Fury and the Flying Tigers as they battle the newly awakened Finn Fang Foom… Join Rocket Raccoon and Doctor Doom as they travel to the edge of space and time. Let’s see… Ghost Rider go bang with none other than Galactus… Aunt May gets caught in the middle of a supernatural battle with Agatha Harkness… The more unlikely the pairing, the more outlandish the combo The more I enjoyed it, the more I enjoyed watching it come to life. I’ve been following the news for this series for over a year now, and I finally found out it’s going to be on newsstands starting in January. I’m very excited.”
