Mad Cave Studios has announced “Is Ted OK?,” a new creator-owned limited series from award-winning cartoonist and musician Dave Chisholm. The six-issue installment is set to premiere in February 2026, and The Beat has all the details.
Here’s an overview:
This is the story of Ted and Sarah. Isolated and paranoid, Ted works for a huge corporation owned by the world’s only billionaire. He suffers from night terrors and draws the same mysterious figures over and over again while listening to the same music over and over again. Oh, and the only “people” he’s ever talked to are stray cats. His humanity hangs on a thread.
Sarah is new to town and is battling her own demons. Her job is to remotely monitor Ted to make sure he doesn’t hurt anyone or himself. As Ted’s mental health begins to fail, Sarah steps in sympathetically to help him, but things take a catastrophic turn for the worse.
Chisholm and Christian Ward created the cover for “Is Ted OK?” #1, below.

“I really, really can’t wait for everyone to read this book,” Chisholm said in the announcement. “Is Ted OK? started with some songs that conjured up images in my head many years ago, and from there Ted and Sarah was born.
“The story snowballed from there: the fascination and terror of the surveillance state, the threat of a mysterious dome, corporate double talk, violence, power, empathy, and the things that bring us closer to or further away from human connection. All of that was reflected in this strange, funny, frightening, and deeply human sci-fi mystery.”
“Each of the six oversized issues expands the scope and raises the stakes. We are beyond grateful to Mad Cave for believing in the full ambition of this project. It promises to blow your mind visually, narratively and emotionally,” Chisholm concluded.
Is Ted okay? will be available digitally and at your local comic shop on February 25, 2026.
