The past few days have been quiet with no news, as everyone seems to be analyzing the deals from Black Friday to Cyber Monday. However, shocking announcements always take time. Pat Gelsinger is retiring after more than 40 years at the company and nearly four years at the helm of the chipmaker. Effective December 1, Mr. Gelsinger resigned from his position and his position on the Board of Directors. The board established a search committee to “diligently and quickly” find a new CEO. Gelsinger oversaw Inter during a period of turbulence for the company. Intel will lay off about 20% of its employees in some divisions in the second half of 2022. This year alone, the company announced it will lay off an additional 15,000 people, or 15% of its workforce, in a $10 billion cost-cutting plan.

Tesla is finally adding SiriusXM integration to its best-selling models. This long-requested feature is coming to the Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck (three of the most popular EVs in the U.S.) as part of the 2024 Tesla Holiday Update. Once the update is received, owners will see SiriusXM in their media sources menu. Access requires Tesla Premium Connectivity ($10/month or $100/year) or an active Wi-Fi connection.
