The new digital comic platform Sweet Shop received a major boost with the announcement of its first publisher’s signature: Image Comics. The title will be available this summer on the Sweet Shop app. Books range from new and old creator-owned comics to licensed Skybound series like Transformers.
Kenny Meyers, owner of app creator Sweet, said: We are huge fans of the work they do and we couldn’t be more excited to release titles for purchase dates and dates around the world. ”
Lorelei Bunjes, Image’s Vice President of Digital Strategy, added: We are delighted to be able to utilize titles owned by so many incredible creators at the time of release. ”
Among the titles featured in Sweet: James Tynion IV and Michael Walsh’s Exquisite Corpses, Matthew Rosenberg and Stefano Landini, the new series will defeat everyone with us, robbing perennials of images such as trance, spawn, ghost machine comics, invincibility, The Walking Dead and more.
Sweet Shop is a digital comic component of Sweet, a suite of software services for both creators and readers. Myers has been active in the digital comics space for a while. Sweet Shop has teased future availability on the platform, including comics and North American comics. This app supports both vertical scrolling and left and right readings from right to left.
Sweet Shop will be released later this summer, but you can preview the features on pre-release sites.
