Explore the pressure of self-harm through the eyes of an exiled knight.
Ichor & Bone caught my attention with that cover. I’m a fantasy-themed horror sucker and I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. It is intended to be a dark medieval fantasy horror comic that blends the same depth and unforgettable vibes of dark souls as something like Green Knight. It’s great, and it makes sense why the story follows Etherhuraed, a passive young knight who confronts the horrors of monsters, undead, and her own failures.

Ride or Die: Chapters 1 and 2
Creator: Mars Heyward (Creator/Artist)
Target: $18,400

devil. car. Gay people. Comics
It looks really fun to ride or die. You can’t get over art from Hayward. They did their absolute best to make this a supernatural comic with high octane. For me, it feels like they wanted the depth of the spider along with Stephen King’s Christine’s spooky horsepower. The story follows a rather unlucky and misfit, where the demon discovers a car owned by the devil and competes in a fatal underground tournament to discover his mother’s loss disappearance. Really, what? The only thing I love about the series owned by the creators of Kickstarter is to smile at the campaign. And it’s great that inspiration comes from the creator’s very own car. Be sure to check out this project. There’s a reason why they’re sitting comfortably on raising over $21,000.

A collection of short comics by eight legendary local artists, featuring eight different regions of St. John’s.
As a San Diego-based author, I think it’s extraordinary to be fascinated by projects focused on St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, but I’m still here. The town is a heartfelt graphic anthology that captures the town’s world through the eyes of eight legendary local artists. Each story shines a spotlight on different neighborhoods, from Rabbit Town to Signal Hill, and these creators delve deep into the humor, heartache and beauty that shapes this legendary city. From a wide range of styles from vibrant colors to black and white, this collection is not just St. John’s, but St. John’s. Curated by Nancy Pedri and published by Black Panel Press, the town celebrates the rich and overlooked comic tradition rooted in local voices that make it even more special. Check out this project, you will not regret it.

Imagine having a little baby on the Thundercats and the dunes. Imagine Godzilla and your therapist made a comic. It’s binary.
“Imagine Godzilla and your therapist made a comic.” I don’t lie to readers, the moment I read it, I was sold. Binary is a crazy, genre-smashing comic in which a fully enlightened octopus fights Kaiju. To be fair, I was already invested, but I know that it’s a raw emotional journey of trauma, friendship and survival.
