Are you planning to upgrade your iPhone this week? Hold on, because Apple’s iPhone 16 event is just a few days away. That means you’ll have the chance to buy the latest iPhone or pick up last year’s model for less. Apple’s event will be held at 1pm ET (10am PST) on Monday, September 9th at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino. You can stream Apple’s It’s Glowtime event live on YouTube (which we’ve embedded here for your convenience) and on Apple’s site.
In terms of new products, we can expect the usual September upgrades, namely a new iPhone 16 lineup and new Apple Watch models (either Series 10 or Series ‘X’, and possibly the Ultra 3). New AirPods, both entry-level and pro-level models, are also likely to be shown off at the Apple event.
As for the iPhone 16 models, they’re not expected to change much from last year’s models, which Engadget’s Billy Steele called “the most significant update to a regular iPhone in years.” Most rumors suggest that there will be an iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max, which will be slightly larger in size compared to the 2023 models, with the latter two expected to feature new camera buttons.
Even if you’re not planning on buying a new Apple device this year, you’ll probably still have access to the latest iOS 18 update later in September if your device is eligible. Here’s a look at everything this year’s iOS 18 update has to offer, including Apple Intelligence and enhanced home screen customization options.
Engadget will also be liveblogging the iPhone event on September 9th with real-time news and analysis from on-site in Cupertino.
