Xbox is hosting a Developer Direct Showcase today, which you can watch live on YouTube, Twitch, or in the convenient embed below.
The stream will begin at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT and will feature updates from the developers of South of Midnight, Claire Obscur: Expedition 33, and Doom: The Dark Ages. Xbox also promises “surprise locations to visit to see the latest games from different studios.” Windows Central reports that this mysterious, unreleased game is “a new installment of a legendary, decades-old Japanese IP,” and it’s certainly intriguing. At least the remaining games featured are scheduled to launch in 2025.
Xbox spent much of 2024 adjusting its game release strategy, delaying some titles to this year and bringing some previously exclusive games to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The company seems to be prioritizing limited time exclusive content rather than hoarding everything for Xbox and PC. So the role of this Developer Direct is a little different this time around. In addition to getting developers to sell their games, the real test of this show is whether it can get people excited about games that come to Xbox first, rather than games that only come to Xbox.
The Xbox Developer Direct Showcase starts at 1pm ET/10am PT on YouTube, Twitch, or embedded above.
