Next February, Ignition Press will debut Love Ignition 2026, its first-ever anthology featuring love stories from a host of incredible creators. However, please be careful. Some of these romances are a little weird. Today, The Beat is giving you an exclusive sneak peek at some of the stories from the collection. Details are explained below.
The synopsis of the anthology is as follows.
Ignition Press debuts its first anthology. This is an outsized, fiery love that stretches from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of space. In love, emotions become intense, and some people go to extremes for the person or creature they desire. Featuring new music by Chris Burnham (Doom Patrol). Patrick Horvath (The Tree Where No One Looks) and Morgan Beam (The Immortal Author). Rosa Ekedal (Think Tank); Olivia Dufour (TV’s Legion) and Dani (The Invisible Man). And so on!
Horvath and Beam’s Lover’s Pact features a serial dater who keeps making deadly promises to his lovers. Check out the preview below.
Olivia Dufour and Dani’s The Harpy and the Siren is an enemies-to-lovers fable about two man-eating monsters from completely different worlds who find themselves in a violent love affair. Check out the preview below.
Sugar May’s “Home Sweet Home” is about two 1950s housewives who fall in love while their salesman husbands are away. Watch a preview of “An Exciting and Bittersweet Affair” below.
Chris Burnham’s “You Me Again,” featuring colors by Allen Passalacqua and letters by Pat Brosseau, follows a coroner who “discovers how love can blossom even after death.” See below.
Love Ignited 2026 also includes Rose Ekedal’s “I Want to Know You,” which “follows a mysterious free spirit who rides with drug dealers on the dark highways of rural California in the ’90s,” and Jamie S. Rich and Belen Kleblas’ “Living in a Satellite Fantasy,” which follows a lonely satellite maintenance worker who discovers that love knows no boundaries like time or space.
