Slow Feet Comic has announced Horror Not Hate, a horror comic anthology and art book to be released in support of LGBTQIA+ and immigrant rights organizations. This is a 200-page collection of stories written by renowned professional talent from major and independent comic labels, underground comics creators, and up-and-coming newcomers. The stories are based on themes such as fascism, hatred, transphobia, homophobia, xenophobia, racism, and toxic patriotism.
Horror Not Hate’s Kickstarter campaign hopes to raise funds, and all proceeds, excluding printing and shipping costs, will be divided equally between the Humane Immigrant Rights Coalition and Lambda’s Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
“I woke up and read the news and every morning I got sick,” said horror author JM Brandt, an organizer with Horror Not Hate.
“My wife told me the only way to fight this problem was to sit down and do something about it. She was right. The next day after it became too much to bear, I announced on Instagram that I was launching a project. I’m not the type of person to protest, so I felt my energy could be better spent putting my knowledge and connections into something people would want to buy and sending that money to charity.”
“Horror Not Hate” features stories written by Stoker and Shirley Jackson Award winners Tim Wagoner, David M. Booher, Joshua Pruett, Riley Silverman, Rich Dooku, Jonathan Hedrick, Joe Corallo, Frankie White, Joshua Rubin, Jeffrey Schiller, Ran Pitts, Ben Khan, Holly Interlandi, Levi Colley, Travis B. Hill, and Jonathan. Chance, Zach Chapman, Moni Baretta, Louis Southard, Cameron Zavala, Ricardo Acevedo, Derek McCaw, Oti Marcus, Lindsey Hutchinson, Cyril Pexon, JM Brandt.
Art for the story is provided by Francesca Fantini, Caleb Addy, Rafael Navarro, Pat Higgins, Zach Kinsella, Craig Rasmussen, Gerald von Stoddard, Jade Lowder, Kurt Belcher, Vasilis Gogutzilas, Alan Quirk, Jacob Ian DeCourcy, Kev Tijana, Dan McLeod, Peter Ahrens, Daisy Church, and Jay. Kennedy, Jody James Brenton, Hope DiCanio, Russell Frechette, Alex Zieff, Austin Bakel, Vladimir Popov, and Damian Ferritte.
What sets this book apart from other horror anthologies is that it’s both a manga collection and an art book. Ivanovic, Nathaniel Barter, Arjuna Susini, Claudia Balboni, Tom Neely, Sam Payne, David Lecompte, Christopher Butler, Patrick Burmeyer, and J. Christopher Schmidt.

The campaign will feature physical copies of the book with variant covers by Chad J. Keith, Skinner, Jonathan La Mantia, and a mystery artist to be announced at a later date.
