Enjoy Harvey Kurtzman’s Marley’s Ghost, a new graphic novel version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

Marley’s Ghost is the posthumous work of legendary creator Harvey Kurtzman, an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel A Christmas Carol. Kurtzman’s ambitious concept for Marley’s Ghost began as an early “graphic novel” in the 1950s, but it was never realized. Now, more than 60 years later, writers Josh O’Neal and Shannon Wheeler have expanded on Kurtzman’s extensive adaptation notes, and illustrator Gideon Kendall’s excellent artwork utilizes Kurtzman’s breakdown and stylistic choices. , making this long-lost vision a reality.

Harvey Kurtzman (1924-1993) was the author of MAD, Playboy’s Little Annie Funny and the Tramps, and Help Magazine. He is considered one of the most influential creators in the history of sequential art, and the industry’s Harvey Award has been chosen in his honor.

Gideon Kendall is an illustrator and animation designer whose clients include Disney, Cartoon Network, and the New York Times. Marley’s Ghost is his first full-length graphic novel.
