Green Lantern #15 Review

Green Lantern #15 continues the momentum established in previous issues, especially if you’ve read Absolute Power #3 beforehand. Writer Jeremy Adams and artist Fernando Pasarin take readers deeper into Hal Jordan and Wally West’s ongoing mission, providing a key moment of hope for our heroes. However, this issue doesn’t just focus on them; it also looks at Alan Scott, Carol Ferris, and other key characters across the DC Universe. Featuring a variety of guest stars, the series continues to build excitement. But the big question remains: how much trouble will Hal Jordan cause Amanda Waller’s reign in Absolute Power? Let’s take a closer look.

DC Comics

It’s pretty awesome that this series is 15 issues in and The Flash and Green Lantern are teaming up for the second time, but what’s different this time? Hal Jordan and Wally West! It’s been a while since we’ve seen these two on an adventure together. The last time we saw them was in Gorilla Warfare in the early 90s, another great one being seeing Wally as Kid Lantern on his adventures with Barry and Hal. Jeremy Adams’ portrayal of the “uncle and nephew” relationship between the two was a lot of fun as they are both impulsive men who constantly push the envelope.

DC Comics

Their opening exchange is funny, with Wally seemingly concerned about Hal’s driving, and a hilarious line when Linda wonders if Wally is also worried about his speeding. This pairing is proof that Jeremy Adams understands his characters and makes their exchange as accurate and worthy as comics can be. When they arrive at Batman’s secret vehicle, the exchange goes to another level, with Wally echoing Hal’s excitement. The two blast off on an adventure that’s a great moment, beautifully captured by Fernando Pasarin and Romulo Fajardo Jr.

DC Comics

This comic doesn’t end with Hal and Wally. Keep an eye on Carol Ferris and Alan Scott. These scenes feel like a bonus, as so much has been covered in issue one. Seeing Carol deal with the ramifications of her decision as she looks at Nate’s new status is both sad and exciting, and will likely relate to the spectrum of emotions. Jeremy Adams does a great job wrapping things up as we see Alan, Carol and Hal’s paths cross. This is great for moving the Absolute Power event forward while also moving this series forward. The epilogue with John Stewart was a fun ride. I’m excited to see how Absolute Power ends and what happens next in the upcoming Civil Corps Special.

Green Lantern and the Flash team up, but this time with two hotheads in Hal Jordan and Wally West. There’s some epic getaways and charging rushes as our heroes flee from Waller’s forces. Plus, Carol Ferris experiences the ups and downs of being a hero, Alan Scott mentors an unknown character, and John Stewart prepares for the upcoming Civil Corps event. There’s a lot packed into just one issue, and it’s a great time to be a Green Lantern fan.

This book is so loaded with DCU characters that it feels like one big crossroads of action and adventure.

Jeremy Adams is having fun, as evidenced by the conversation between Hal and Wally.

Fernando Pasarin, Oclair Albert, and Romulo Fajardo Jr. are doing great. These three should be at an event together!

Carol Ferris’ experience of what it means to be a hero and the price it costs is a major touchstone of her journey in the series.
