We are now entering a new era of AI. Google offers an AI video maker available in some Workspace editions.
Google Vids runs on Google’s AI model Gemini to create workplace and marketing videos from Google Drive files and descriptions. You can start your video from scratch or use pre-made templates to create your first draft. There’s also a “Help me create” option where Gemini can suggest a script to start creating your video.
You are not limited to the content of the template. Google Vids lets you use your own photos and videos. It also features a virtual recording studio, so you can add your own photos and videos, record your own videos, and even create an audio track of your own voice to accompany your videos.
In April, Google announced new AI video creation capabilities using the Gemini AI model. Google Vids doesn’t create videos from scratch like Runway’s Gen-2 or OpenAI’s Sora, which created the creepy Toys R Us origin story movie. Google Vids creates a kind of slideshow using different types of media and edits them based on the content of the source document and the suggestions you enter there. Google Vids is part of Google Workspace, so you can collaborate on video projects with other team members in real time.
Google Vids is available to Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Essentials, Enterprise Essentials, and Enterprise Essentials Plus members.
