Tablets may be a cheaper alternative than laptops, but they can still cost a significant amount of money. Google released this Pixel Tablet in the summer of 2023, and it gave us things we really liked and things we weren’t surprised by. We gave it a score of 84 in our review, mainly because of its smart home features. Reviewer Charlyn Rowe already had a Nest Mini in her room, but was impressed by how much more powerful the tablet was. The sound is great and that’s thanks to the speaker dock, but the hub mode is very useful. You’ll see all the devices in your home, including camera feeds and switch lamps.
If you seek this device for entertainment and ease, it could be great. However, there were some aspects that we weren’t as keen on. I didn’t use it much without a stand as some of the moves aren’t very intuitive. However, even if you buy it without a dock, the battery life is good, lasting 21 and a half hours at 50% brightness in our tests.
