As first spotted by The Verge, Google is now offering refurbished Pixel smartphones. The company sells refurbished Pixel 6, Pixel 6A, and Pixel 7 devices directly through the Google Store. Phones can be purchased at up to 40% off when compared to newer models. Each smartphone comes with the same one-year limited warranty and customer support options as new models.
Google says all refurbished devices are “carefully inspected” to ensure the phone, screen and battery are all in top condition. However, a company representative said in a statement to The Verge that they do not make any guarantees about battery life. Cell phone batteries age just like humans. Slowly at first, then all at once.
However, the price is attractive. The Pixel 6 is available for $339 instead of $599, while the well-received Pixel 7 Pro costs $629 instead of $899. All of these refurbished models offer 128GB of storage, but the store will soon offer other storage tiers, according to Google spokesperson Patrick Seybold.
The good news is that each phone ships with the latest Android software and comes with a compatible charger as well. Free shipping is also available.
