The Pixel 8a is our pick for the best mid-range smartphone you can buy today. We gave it a score of 90 in our review in May. It has some great hardware for a phone in this price range, including a great camera, a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and great battery life (lasted 20 and a half hours in our video rundown test) .

Additionally, the Pixel 8a runs on Tensor G3, the same chipset as the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. So it can perform the same AI features as the flagship device, including Magic Eraser and other camera tricks, web article summarization and Google Assistant narration, wallpaper generation, and faster Face Unlock.
Features such as IP67 dust and water resistance are very welcome. On the downside, the bezel is a little thicker than some people might prefer. Qi wireless charging is also slow at 7.5W. Still, these are minor issues for a good mid-range phone.
