Following the 70th anniversary of King of the Monsters, IDW Publishing has unveiled an all-new shared universe of Godzilla comics. Called the “Kaisei era,” this setting awakens Godzilla and other monsters in 1954, and develops a nominal, mystical energy source that features superhuman characters. On Saturday, May 3rd, it will begin with a free Comic Book Day issue, Godzilla: The New Heroes and the ongoing series. (Batman and Robin), July.

Godzilla #1

In 1954, an experiment using a mysterious energy source called Kai-sei awakened Godzilla and other horrifying monsters. For decades, humanity has endured the onslaught of monster attacks. Japan sees these unstoppable runaways like natural disasters, but the US G-Force is trying to fight these seemingly immortal Titans. Now they have found a boy wielding Godzilla’s powers. Will he save the world…or bring about its fate?

The universe will expand in August with Godzilla in the Postpost. Estan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan (Kill Darlings) escape the dead zone they wrote in art in Pablo Tunica (Teen Mutant Ninja Turtles).

Godzilla: lets dead zone #1 escape

In Toho history, Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone explores the greatest mysteries of the universe with new connections, featuring the first half-kaiju hybrids in history. Searching for answers will forever change how fans see this new universe as they experience this thrilling and shocking ride.

The Slate will be concluded in October by Godzilla, a space opera spaceship by author Chris Gooch (Inside the Womb) and artist Oliver Ono (Godzilla: Monster Island Summer Camp).

Spaceship Godzilla #1

For the first time in Toho Canon, this journey through the stars fills the gap between the various alien races. They came to Earth with past stories, but now they are as non-fit crew members to embark on missions based on secret, high-risk, high-rewards that could affect the entire universe. It’s time to visit the world.

Jake Williams, editor of IDW’s Godzilla Line, said, “The Kaisei era is the only ongoing Godzilla story of this kind, and that I read comics with a comic reader who has never bought a Godzilla book. Made for Godzilla fans, we aim to bring you the best possible story – those stories include the G-Force members of the superpowers trying to kill Godzilla, then Whether it includes a wasteland mutant trying to survive, or a mechagodzilla mercenary flying through space. Every month, readers will be able to lay in a brand new universe made up of unimaginable fears, old, new, and heroes. You can peek at it. We tell the story of the best Godzilla in the world, among the best cartoons on the shelf.”

In the meantime, fans can head to the official Godzilla website to check out the interior art of each series and check out the design sheets for the Kaisei-driven monster Chijimechaija.
