The Static Shock Animated series featured nominal heroes who team up with many DC heroes. Without a doubt, one of the most popular was teaming up beyond Batman in the “Future Shock” episode. Fans are most excited to hear DC has announced Batman/Static: Beyond, the Bold New Six-Issue Limited Comic Book Series.

Here’s how publishers explain the series:
In his debut issue, Terry McGinnis patrols Neo Gosham’s Neon Light Street, while Virgil Hawkins pioneered the technological revolution with the launch of the Q-Wave Energy Grid. As Earth prepares to join a powerful interplanetary alliance called cooperatives, the other side of the Justice League is ready to lead a new era of peace. But when the mystical villains cause a global blackout, the planet’s future depends on balance. Technology is crippled, chaos, and we need to take a grounded approach to beyond static and Batman, perhaps building alliances and saving the world before it’s too late.
Fans may recall Draper-Ivey wrote and portrayed a static, Batman team-up story in the Milestone 30th Anniversary Special Shot Special. Narcisse praised the original story and expressed his excitement to be involved in this Batman/statically.
“I loved the dynamic NIK set between static and Batman at the milestone 30th anniversary special that these characters first collaborated with. The most exciting part of this new project is exploring how Terry and Virgil are different from each other.”
Narcissed added:
“Static is a former teenage hero who grew up to take more responsibility for his city and the bigger world, and Terry is still thinking about how to do those things in his own way. Terry is still a high school student, but he also gains the expectations that come with it as a weight of the Batman Mantle and an important part of his life. Injustice has changed his way of living in his hometown of Dakota.
In the official press release, Draper-Ivey discussed some of the themes of the miniseries.
“This story is intended to be an explanatory commentary on our technology and the imminent dangers use AI to replace our own imagination and human ingenuity,” continued Nicholas Draper Evie. “Now we use our watch to find a phone, we use our phone to connect to everything else. We don’t rely on our memories. We rely on technology to remember. It worries me deeply.
