Details of Dwayne McDuffie: in his own words
The Dwayne McDuffy Award slogan for comics diversity is McDuffy’s own profound thing.
“From the invisible to the inevitable.”
Prolific author/creator Mark Wade said, “I’m proud to be a part of DMADS”:
“As a medium and as a community, we even rule out the onslaught of prejudice and intolerance that cleans the United States as we talk about. The comic world is responsible for not only adopting great storytelling, but also recognizing, promoting and admiring comics that represent the power of equality and inclusion. The broadest range of voices and perspectives possible.”
Fan favorite actor Phil Lamar worked extensively with McDuffy both in the role of the static shock title in the animated title and in the voice of John Stewart/Green Lantern in the animated Justice League, which had to be said about his enduring involvement with DMAD as the awards MC.
“I’m part of DMADS for gratitude. I’m grateful that Dwayne McDuffy’s incredible skills have enjoyed being a comic book nerd and gave me the opportunity to be a comic book hero, and I continue his legacy.”
