A glorious free comic book day is finally here, and with it you will taste the things that come from DC, Marvel, IDW and more! Marvel FCBD comics are probably the hottest FCBD comics, mostly because they’ve always bullied what comes next, making them a big conversation starter. Nothing gets as hot as the FCBD Fantastic Four/Giant-sized X-Men #1. Set up a huge, Marvel-led, one-shot, showing what Ryan North and Hambel Ramos can do with the Fantastic Four.

The first is a FF story by North and Ramos. Instead of using a teaser, leading you to what comes next, this is even more fun. The story includes a child alien who summons the Fantastic Four into his own world. Soon FF saves alien children and shows off their abilities. This is a taste tester that is great not only for the power these heroes have, but also for their personality. Cake Icing is the finale page showing the wholesale of this team.
Next is the X-Men story. This is Ms. Marvel’s new mission battle comic and 10% setup. The part of Fight Comic, drawn by Iban Coello, is extremely exciting and should please Cyclops fans. He takes on all the mutants and takes them out easily. Coello makes us believe in Cyclops’ confidence. As a strategist, he reminds me that even characters like Storm have an advantage (sorry, Storm fan!).
Three stories to enjoy.

Jackson Lantz and Colin Kelly write this to reveal that Marvel is saving mutant history, but it’s still not clear. The release doesn’t say that completely, but it appears that Marvel is already in the past.
Last but certainly, it’s a written, drawn backup story written by Chipzdarski. It’s short, but it’s meta and interesting. Zdarsky’s art is clean and simple, and he knows how to frame the story and get laughs. If you hate Paul, you’ll love the ending.
Free Comic Book Day 2025: Fantastic Four/Giant-Sized X-Men #1 offers a trio story that not only entertains but also suggests exciting stories. From Ryan North’s healthy charm and Humbeltramos’ fantastic four shorts to the thrilling mutant proximity of the X-Men segment and the cheeky backup of Chip Zdarsky, this issue packs value, diversity and vision into a single free package. Whether you’re a stubborn Marvel fan or just testing the water, there’s something here that inspires your interest and some speculation.

Four fun, totally amazing stories that highlight team dynamics and heroism
Cyclops get outstanding moments in visually dynamically dynamic X-Men battle sequences
Chip Zdarsky’s backup brings humor and style with a compact dose
The bullying of Marvel’s mission is a bit too vague to land with complete influence.
Readers new to Paul may miss Zdarsky’s gag punchline
