This December marks the end of the infamous duo Rick and Morty, and to commemorate the occasion, Oni Press has released a variant cover of “Randomized Blind Bagless.”
Rick and Morty: The End #1, written by Daniel Kibblesmith and illustrated by Jarrett Williams, is a direct spin off of Rick and Morty vs. The End. Universe part 1. Its “Randomized No Blind Bag” variant is traditionally known as the Randomized “Intermix” cover, but considering this event commemorates 10 years and over 100 issues of Rick and Morty, Oni is coining a new descriptor.
Basically, these variants offer all the fun of the blind bag variants without the plastic waste and the possibility of bending your brand new comics while trying to open the bag. It’s a win for the environment and the reader.
Today, The Beat is able to reveal these intermix variations, each featuring Rick and Morty covers from past issues.
Rick and Morty: The End #1 catches up with Rick Sanchez, who is on the run from everyone. Here’s an overview:
There’s a bounty on his head, and every government, military, pirate, gangster, bounty hunter, bail bondsman, religious organization, theater company, circus clown, and endangered species are trying to get Rick – DEAD OR ALIVE. Rick is warmly welcomed by the one person who knows him best: Morty Smith. But Morty isn’t the only Smith chasing Rick. . . “Space Beth” Smith is determined to bring Rick in, and she doesn’t particularly care how. Now, it’s all about who gets to him first…!
