The fan-favorite series “Honor and Curse” returns next year as “Honor and Curse: Eternal” from Mad Cave Studios. The first of 12 issues will be released in March, and The Beat has all the details.

Produced and written by Mark London, illustrated by Jaime Infante, colored by Fran Gambella, and lettered by Carlos M. Mangal, Honor and Curse: Eternal features a retail incentive cover by Infante and additional covers by Nick Marinković and Filija Bratuhin. Here’s an overview:

600 years ago, ninja warrior Kenji Sakakura was cursed with immortality and disappeared from history, possessed by war-hungry spirits known as tengu. Now living in modern-day New York, Genshi’s centuries-old silence is shattered when he is forced back into the fight by a terrorist attack and a kidnapping connected to his old past. To restore his honor, he must once again break the curse he has spent his life containing.

“The story of Genshi has stuck with me ever since I first imagined it, a man who ran from his power for six centuries and was finally dragged back into the light,” London said. “What appeals to me is how human his struggle is: carrying the weight of an ancient oath, fighting the spirit of war in his heart, and grappling with whether salvation is even possible 600 years later.

“Reclaiming Honor and Curse means we can finally find out what happens when the silence is broken, the run stops, and the Immortal Ninja’s past strikes in 2026,” he continued. “This series is a cinematic journey through time as Genshi’s battles, his deeply personal battle with his vows and inner spirit, unfold. We honor what made the original work, while pushing the mythology to places it has never been before. After all, the most dangerous thing Genshi ever did was not fight, but refuse to fight at all. Honor and Curse: Eternity is that reckoning.”

Infante added, “I love working with Mud Cave. Mark London’s Underworld is diverse, rich, and full of action… At Mud Cave, I feel at home and have a lot of creative freedom. And I feel like my creative decisions, no matter how crazy they may seem, are always the right path.”

Honor and Curse: Eternal #1 will be available digitally and at local comic shops on March 25, 2026.
