Set between Episodes VIII and IX, Rey and Leia embark on a journey to repair Rey’s lightsaber and rekindle her Jedi heritage.
After narrowly escaping the First Order on Crait, Rey and the Resistance struggle to rebuild. Her friends need The Last Jedi more than ever, but Rey feels alone and overwhelmed. The Jedi tradition is built on masters and apprentices, and Rey’s master is gone. Leia Organa tries her best to train Rey in the ways of the Force, just as Luke did for her all those years ago, but Leia’s knowledge is limited, Rey’s lightsaber is broken, and the ghost of Kylo Ren and past regrets haunt them both. How can Leia pass the torch if she doesn’t know the way herself?
But then an ancient Jedi text offers a glimmer of hope. A long-forgotten Jedi temple on Tython may hold the key to restoring Rey’s saber. Rey jumps at the chance to travel there, and to her surprise, so does Leia.
Rey and Leia’s early leadership qualities are put to the test when they discover that Tython’s temple is filled with vague clues to decipher and arcane trials to complete. As they work to unravel the mysteries of the temple, they encounter a group of refugees living in its shadow. They are hiding from an eager First Order officer in pursuit of two freedom fighters in their midst. With the threat of the First Order looming and the temple’s secrets yet to be uncovered, a newly trained master and apprentice must confront their pasts, connect with each other in the present, and decide what it means to carry the Jedi legacy into the future.
