Early Prime Day sales include Echo Show 8 at lowest price ever

As you might have guessed, October’s Prime Day is less than a week away, and Amazon devices are already on sale. Among the deals is one of our picks for the best smart displays, the Echo Show 8, at its lowest price ever. The latest model is on sale again for $85, which is $65 off the regular price. It’s always a good deal when you can get this smart display for less than $100. However, this is the best price we’ve seen, and it hasn’t been this low since Prime Day in July.

We think this is the best Alexa-compatible smart display due to its many useful features and the fact that it’s almost Goldilocks-sized. The Show 8 has an 8-inch 1,280 x 800 touchscreen that’s large enough to see recipes clearly and watch videos comfortably without taking up too much space on your countertop or side table. It’s the size.

Show 8 has an improved 13-megapixel camera with auto-framing to make video calls with friends and family even better. Cameras also act as security devices, allowing you to check in on your home while you’re away. There’s a physical shutter that completely covers the camera when it’s not in use, or if you want extra privacy.

Of course, devices like the Show 8 are designed to harness the power of Alexa. Use your voice assistant from your smart display to check the weather forecast, browse your calendar to see what’s next, or bring up that show you’ve been binge-watching on Netflix. This model also has a built-in Zigbee smart home hub, so you can directly connect smart home gear like smart light bulbs and plugs without the need for an additional hub. Additionally, if these IoT devices are equipped with Alexa Smart, you can also control them using voice commands.

If you’re looking for something a little more nightstand-friendly, there are other Alexa smart displays available now. The Echo Show 5 has been reduced to $50, and the recently revived Echo Spot has been reduced to $45. The former is also one of our favorites, thanks to its compact design, ambient light sensor, and sunrise alarm feature. The Echo Spot just returned to the lineup a few months ago, and Amazon is touting it as a true smart alarm clock. It has a cute circular design with a bold half-moon screen that can display the time, weather, alarm, currently playing music, and more.
