Fan-favorite screenwriter and Pulp Fiction mastermind David Avallone (Elvira, Bettie Page) returns with three brand new stories in this special oversized winter issue of Savage Tales. The comic features a cardstock cover and artwork by three rising stars, including two recent graduates of the famed Kubert School of Comic Illustration.

Avallone says this is a once-in-a-lifetime great opportunity to return to the trio of characters he loves to write.

I have been a fan of John and Deja ever since I discovered them in my early teens. Vampirella was the first comic character I ever wrote, and I will always have a special affection for her. Finally, Dynamite gave me the opportunity to imagine a new future for Gulliver Jones in the last issue of Savage Tales. Let’s continue the story here.

When Savage Tales returns, readers are reintroduced to one of pulp fiction’s most iconic power couples. David Avallone wrote Mutiny on Mars, starring John Carter and Dejah Thoris. Eman Casaros (Pathfinder, Army of Darkness) brings adventures to life with her finely honed artistic skills.

Underrated pulp favorite Captain Gulliver Jones returns in the long-awaited story His War, written by Kubert College graduate Hamish Munro-Cook.

Vampirella is spotlighted in “The Real Thing,” a story chronicled by David Avallone and Mariano Benitez Chapo, another talented Kubert alumnus on the rise in the comics world.

That’s not all. These three stories conclude with a reprint of the Red Sonja story “Seeing Red” by Kurt Busiek and Benjamin Dewey. Originally published in Red Sonja: Black, White, Red.

A great set of covers created by Arthur Suydam, Bjorn Barends, Joseph Michael Linsner, and cosplayer Rachel Hollon. This exciting package promises action, romance and adventure, making this set of stories perfect for winter reading.

Savage Tales: Winter 2025 Special is featured in Diamond Comic Distributors’ December 2024 preview catalog and is scheduled for release in February 2025. Fans can pre-order at their local comic shop or purchase digitally through platforms like Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play. .!

If you don’t want to miss it, head to your local comic shop now.

Check out previews of all covers and some interior pages ahead of launch.
