This December, Marvel launched a new Doctor Strange series series from author Dere Crandy (Infinity Watch) and artist Ivan Fiorelli (Fantastic Four), featuring a main cover by fantasy art legend Alex Hawley.
The Earth Magician is no longer the best, and Stephen Strange holds that title asgard title. Following the events at Al Ewing and Pasqual Ferry’s Thor, Asgard’s link to Midgard was cut off and strangely left behind. Unable to return home, he sets out across the territory with Angela. With fresh powers and Asgardian magic around, Strange faces astounding as he is amazed by wonder and danger, from Heven’s royalty to the ominous dark elf magician.
The adventure begins with a prelude in a one-shot of Doctor Strange #450 next month, showing off Strange’s mission, his upgraded Arsenal, and a new look designed by Jeff Shaw. In the first issue, Strange heads to Alfheim and stops the brewing war between the elves and angels on a mysterious cow, with Angela as his only guide.
Randy promises a “larger, crazy, more bent” story, exploring the society of angels and nine realms, while Fiorelli goes all out with Strange’s magical visuals and enjoys the opportunity to create brand new Marvel characters. The variant cover of issue 1 comes from Luciano Vecchio and Fanyang, the latter also offers Virgin variants. It is currently open in a comic shop in advance.
