CBS’ long-standing deal with the Grammys appears to be coming to an end. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the Grammy Awards has signed a new deal that will move the music awards show to ABC, Hulu, and Disney+ starting in 2027.
CBS will be able to continue broadcasting the 2025 and 2026 Grammy Awards on its broadcast network and streaming service Paramount+, which has been available for several years. The awards show will then move to a new home in 2027. The new deal will keep the Grammy Awards on ABC and its sister streaming sites through 2036.
Winning the Grammys is a major coup for Disney’s media empire. ABC is also the home of the Oscars. Under the current deal, the Academy Awards will remain on the company’s network until at least 2028.
The Grammys and Oscars are also two of the most-watched awards broadcasts in television. The last Grammy Awards drew an audience of 16.9 million this year. The 96th Academy Awards drew 19.5 million viewers in March, the largest audience for an awards show since 2020.
