Digital comic book service InkyPen launches on Steam on November 18, 2025

The digital comic world is once again heating up with the announcement that InkyPen, an all-you-can-read service centered on distribution via game platforms, will debut on Steam on November 18th.

This move has been teased in the past, but no release date was announced. Subscriptions for all platforms are $7.99 or local equivalent.

InkyPen, a small technology company based in Norway, sells comics on its website and on the Nintendo Switch platform, partnering with publishers such as Dark Horse, IDW, Kodansha, and Dynamite.

Steam’s Inky Pen app offers cross-platform support, so existing users can carry over their reading progress and subscriptions to the new platform, and new users can hop on the Nintendo Switch and read comics on the go.

“At InkyPen, it’s our dream to have easy access to the world’s best comics. We love games, manga, and comics, so we’re excited to announce that InkyPen is coming to Steam. We hope gamers and other comics readers will enjoy InkyPen on Steam for years to come,” InkyPen founder and CEO dais Ronan Huggard said in a statement.

The announcement concludes with a hint that more publishers will be added to InkyPen’s catalog. Publishers of all sizes seem to want to be on as many platforms as possible. And, as we’ve pointed out many times, InkyPen offers something that no other platform has. It’s Inky, the cute animal mascot, the arctic fox. Seriously, people, it’s all about branding.

If you’d like to check out InkyPen’s products, visit their Steam page.
