To Broadway
Here’s a description of Broadway from Abrams’ book:
“The young dancer in postwar Europe is trying to seize his dreams and become a Broadway performer.
“In this moving graphic novel, Mauran Mazar cleverly illustrates the emotionally resonating character studies of young gay men who struggle to express themselves in the wake of World War II.
“Germany, April 1957. Uri is a contemporary dance student at the famous Folk One University and does anything to pursue her dream of becoming a famous Broadway dancer.
“On a fateful trip to Berlin, Uri meets Anthony, a young American dancer. The charm is immediately appealing, and Anthony convinces Uri to move to New York and try his luck on Broadway.
“Can Uri grab his dreams in New York City? Or is he just one of many young artists destined to find a disappointing reality check in the Big Apple?”
And here are some details about the creator:
“Maurane Mazard was born in Toulon, France in 1991. In 2016 she received her Masters in Illustration from Hautes Ecole des Arts du Rhine in Strasbourg, and awards to Broadway.
