If you thought you were looking forward to the super titles this March, just wait until you get a ton of March bat titles. The Batman continuation title, re-released by the creative team of writer Matt Fraction and artist Jorge Jimenez, has been a commercial and critical success. Thanks to Fraction, it’s no secret that writing Batman was a childhood dream of mine. It stands to reason that any creator trying to write a Caped Crusader would end up writing a story about a clown prince of crime. Sure enough, the Joker returns to Gotham in this March’s special oversized issue of Batman #7. DC teases that this issue will be Fraction and Jimenez’s bold reintroduction of the Joker and redefine their relationship.

Batman is beckoned to Arkham Towers by the mysterious man from Room 10, but nothing can prepare him for the person he finds there. Some might call him the Caped Crusader’s nemesis. Others might call him Batman’s best friend. Everyone calls him Joker.

The Joker isn’t the only character returning to Gotham as Selina Kyle finishes her world tour and returns to her own humble hometown.

As readers know, immortal caveman Vandal Savage has taken over as Gotham City Commissioner, and the GCPD is now a threat to the Dark Knight and the rest of the Bat-Family. Things escalate further when Pamela Eisley, better known as Poison Ivy, is elected Gotham City’s new mayor. Check out Pamela’s new ascension in the pages of Poison Ivy #42 by writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Marcio Takara.

Writer Dan Watters continues to receive rave reviews for his Nightwing titles. For issue #136 in March, Watters is joined by legendary artist Dennis Cowan for a supernatural noir tale that explores the urban legend of Blüdhaven.

A new era for Bludhaven and its heroes begins here. The city’s new superhighway was supposed to be a lifeline, but instead it became a breeding ground for bizarre and violent incidents. Nightwing’s investigation into this haunted path leads him to a tragedy from which he will never recover, and he searches for answers in Bludhaven’s tragic past. Superstar artist Dennis Cowan teams up with author-in-progress Dan Watters to create a supernatural noir tale based on urban legends…in a city where the unavenged dead are no longer silent.

Finally, Cassandra Cain inherits cursed powers in Tate Brombal and Takeshi Miyazawa’s Batgirl #17, and Harley Quinn splits into two personas in Elliot Curran and Carlos Oliveras’ Harley Quinn #60.

In a direct spin from the events of DC KO, Batgirl returns to Gotham City and awakens to Blood’s twisted metahuman abilities: the power to use and control her own blood like a weapon. However, her reunion with the Bat-Family is cut short when she is forced to climb Ukoop Tower to confront her blood relatives in search of answers and a reversal of this curse. Cassandra Cain has leveled up…or leveled down? This is where Blood Curse begins, making it the perfect starting point for new readers of this hit series.
