As previously reported, the traditional Free Comic Book Day will be a joint venture between Universal Distribution (which owns FCBD), Lunar, and Diamond UK, while Penguin Random House will be doing its own thing with a variety of other comics publishers for the first Comics Giveaway Day. For DC, leading up to FCBD on Saturday, May 2nd, the publisher will be offering free comics showcasing three DC Next Level titles, DC’s early reader graphic novel Aquamanatee, the fan-favorite crossover comic series DC x Sonic the Hedgehog, and DC’s award-winning horror comic House on the Lake, available exclusively at participating local comic shops (while supplies last) and at DC UNIVERSE INFINITE.
Most people would expect DC to introduce Supergirl on Free Comic Book Day, in the same vein as Superman in last year’s FCBD series. In any case, we can expect the publication of “Summer of Supergirl” to be promoted in anticipation of the upcoming movie.

DC Next Level FCBD 2026 Sampler

Finally, DC is offering an FCBD special edition, the first issue of the critically acclaimed A Wonderful House on the Lake by author James Tynion IV and artist Álvaro Martinez Bueno. The Nice House story returns next month as part of Vertigo’s relaunch, so this FCBD special edition is the perfect way to sample the horror series everyone is talking about.
