DC Comics today released a first look preview for DC All-In Special #1, which features textless interior art from both Joshua Williamson and Daniel Sampere’s story and Scott Snyder and Wes Craig’s story.
The flip-book style story follows DC’s summer event “Absolute Power” and takes the DC Universe in a bold new direction. Having overcome the Triumphant Evil, the DCU’s Super Heroes usher in a new era of unity (including a new expanded version of the Justice League) to protect humanity from all threats. And the first threat to this new oath of protection couldn’t be greater: the return of Darkseid.
Gathering Earth’s other superheroes to fortify their defenses against a radically different version of the King of Apokolips, Superman prepares for a new war — one that will send shockwaves through every franchise in the DC Universe and shake reality to its very core.
But an even greater threat looms, as an alternate universe is on the rise: the Absolute Universe. This one features different versions of DC’s iconic superheroes, some of whom grow up in less fortunate circumstances than their counterparts, but who retain the same heroic qualities that have captivated fans for decades. But as their world hurtles towards a terrible destiny, can these new versions of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and more protect the light that shines within them?
A gateway into a new status quo for the DC Universe, it comes to life with some of comics’ greatest storytellers, including writers Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson, and artists Wes Craig, Mike Spicer, Daniel Samper, and Alejandro Sanchez. The DC All-In Special can be read in either order, with the two parts connected by a sequence drawn by Dan Mora.
The DC All-In Special features a main cover by Daniel Sampere and Alejandro Sánchez, as well as alternate covers by Rafa Sandoval and Matt Harms, Wes Craig and Mike Spicer, and Jon Jan. The book also features a foil variant of the main cover by Sampere and Sánchez, as well as a foil variant cover featuring the new DC logo unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con.
