Shrek is one of the ultimate refugees to escape the remains of the Diamond comics. He was a purchase manager – Marvel comics from 2021 only a few weeks ago. Prior to that, he was DC Comics sales manager for 21 years.
It’s fair to say that Stuart Shrek is a very popular person in the comics community. Diamonds have been separated every day, so many people continued to ask, “Are you okay with Stuart?” Certainly, his employment at Dark Horse will be praised by many. It’s a victory: Dark Horse gets someone who knows the DM and retailer like the back of his hand, and comic lovers who worked hard for the diamond can get a better gig.
The photo above was snapped at SDCC 2025, showing Stuart watching his escape from the strange diamond booth that has become a showcase for various advertising populum brands. But the looming dark horse booth behind him is something that will surprise you in the future!
Rose City Comic Con will take place in Portland or this weekend, but tickets are available. Lots of great guests and exhibitors. Portland is a comic town, so it’s an alley for great artists.
Other Diamond Escapes include Alliance Seven (including Microphone Shimmel). Mike Shimel joined Spanned Diamond Bidder Alliance Entertainment to help expand the distribution of pop culture and filed a lawsuit from Sparkle Pop. Nance Romer, a highly respected director of retailer services, was hired at Universal Distribution. Additionally, Emily Botica, vice president of client services at Diamond Book Distributors, joined PRH as Director of Client Services.
