Forty-two years after his death, the work of fantasy illustrator Roy G. Klenkel breathes new life. Thanks to Dark Horse Comics, we are pleased to announce that the publisher and Yo’s books will be releasing a comic book store curated by Roy G. Krenkel of fantastic art, which will be released in bookstores on October 1, 2025, as well as Craig Yoe. After jumping, you can check out the full press release, cover and more.

Master Paint Killer Roy G. Klenkel’s art will be brought to the world with a stunning new art book from Yeobook

“Roy G. Klenkel’s Fantastic Art” brings Craig Yoe’s collection of Klenkel’s art to inspire the world.

Milwaukee, Oregon, (May 8, 2025) – Curated by Craig Yoh, an art and cartoon legend (Cartoonist against racism: The Secret Jewish War of Prejudice), Dark Horse and Yoh’s books present the incredible art of Roy G. Klenkel in both a gorgeous hardcover volume and a limited edition of slipcovers. This book is undoubtedly interested in art lovers, historians and fans of Roy G. Klenkel’s stunning sword and rescue artwork. Beloved art once lost on the Prozin/Fangin page can be shared and cherished in the stunning 7×10 inch art book that arrived in the fall of 2025.

With nearly 500 pieces of art, including 16 generous folds, this is the definitive collection for fans and newcomers of Virtuoso fantasy artist Roy G. Krenkel. This volume contains the foreword of Sara Frazetta, the founder of Frazetta Girls and the granddaughter of Frank Frazetta, known as the “Godfather of Fantasy Art.” The artbook also features the preface of Michael Wm Kaluta, who worked with Krenkel to carve a pencil.

Amra was a legendary sword and magical fanzine. It was filled with Krenkel’s perfect art and won two Hugos (Sci-Fi Field’s highest honor). Krenkel was Amra’s hot-selling artist, but fan favorite Zine also starred other master fantasy practitioners, including Frazetta herself, Katherine Jeffrey Jones, Dan Adkins, Greymorrow, Alex Nino and Bernie Wrightson. Unknown examples of their bravura art are presented in a special section of the book for context.

That obvious chapter follows a beautifully written introduction to Frazetta and Klenkel’s intimate friendship by Frazetta, Frazetta, the mysterious artist herself, co-founder of the girl of Frazetta, a respected being.

The complete Amra illustrations are lovingly collected from the rare “jinn” to captivate and enchant artists and art lovers. Fantastic dinosaurs, apes, wild bars, cavemen and women, citizens of ancient civilizations, Saber’s teeth Tiger lives in the gorgeous pages of this stunning book, so that only Roy G. Clenkel can adorn.

Editor Yoe said, “This gorgeous, thick book finally collects Klenkel’s full Amra art, which was made by Master Fantasy Delinaire Roy G. Klenkel to think of his Zenith work.

Experience this stunning collection of Roy G. Klenkel’s incredible art when the 256 pages (7 x 10 inches) hardcover arrives in bookstores and comics on September 30th and October 1st, 2025 for $39.99.

Those looking to elevate their collection can secure the incredible art from the Roy G. Clenkel Limited Edition with unique variant covers. Inside the slipcase, the original Roy G. Clenkel artwork is housed in a transparent portfolio sleeve for $349.99. Limited edition pre-orders arrive at bookstores and comic shops on September 30th and October 1st, 2025, and are expected to sell out quickly.
