Daniel Warren Johnson’s kickstarter has already raised $140,000

Fresk’s publications and Daniel Warren Johnson have launched a crowdfunding campaign for Daniel Warren Johnson’s art. Illustrations, pages, artbooks from the whole cover, Starfleet, limbs, limbs, murder falcon, power bomb, trance, moon with us, followed by the incredible women: Dead Earth and Bettalil buildings.

The campaign has only been on a few days, but at the time of writing it has already raised nearly $140,000.

Flesk sells both paperback and hardcover versions and features books with “over 220 sketches from DWJ’s sketchbook.” Fans can also find travel sketches, previous commissions, detailed commentary on the art and layout of the panels, and conversations with contributors like Riley Rosmo.

From Kickstarter:

This artbook is available as a paperback and as a signed deluxe hardcover edition. There are also two premiums, with signed 13 x 19 inch prints available. All book pledges come with a Kickstarter-Exclusive 8.5 x 11 inch signed print (per one backer).

“One of my favorite things about this book is the freedom I’ve had to really choose my favorite artwork I’ve done in my entire career. So I was able to climb my favorite pages, the pages I’m most excited to draw, or the ones I felt were successful, and I was able to climb the mountains that I felt like that. Johnson on Kickstarter Video.

“All images in the book are raw scans, so all images and everything is in every image. The cover is cleaned up, but there is a page of completely raw covers inside the book,” commented DWJ on the Instagram announcement.

DWJ has global fans, but for now, Flesk only offers Kickstarter delivery. But there’s hope! “International orders to countries in Canada, the UK, Australia and the European Union are available on the Flesk Publications website once the book arrives in the warehouse and is ready to ship to Kickstarter supporters.”

Check out some previews and a brief overview below.

DWJ art has 288 pages of art and explanations. Includes over 200 pieces from DWJ’s sketchbook. The larger panel details show the linework of the DWJ up close. DWJ discusses how he works with Riley Rossmo on the moon. Travel sketch!

Congratulations to one of the hardest working creators in the industry! Don’t forget to check out Kickstarter to get a copy here.
