Crypto has several competitions in the merchandise division of Baby Joey and Superman

After unveiling the first wave of Superman’s tie-in products last month, both McFarlane Toys and Funko made their debut with more pre-orderable toys. Among the highlights are characters fans are discussing online, although their exact nature and origin are still unknown. Many are surprised that it is Metamorpho’s son that is being prisoned by Lex Luther to control his father in order to make his bid.

His preference for adorable creatures should not be surprising given that this comes from film director James Gunn, who introduced the world to Baby Groot. After the film is released, there will be time to see if Baby Joey has a greater appeal than Crypto.

Similarly, the mysterious character seen in trailers sports the letter “u” is certainly Ultraman. But even the merchandise maintains the full details of who he is wrapped in. Rather than offering Ultraman as his own form, Anko produced Ultraman as a Chase Variant, an Ultra Rare collectible randomly inserted during production runs, for Boravian hammers. It remains to be seen whether this means any connection between the two characters in the film.

As many have pointed out, Hawk Girl products are notably lacking from the film. It’s not the first time a female character has been ruled out from the toy line of comic book movies, such as when an executive blocked the production of a Black Widow product for Avengers: Age of Ultron. If you have to guess, you’d expect Hawgirl products to be in the line. If appropriate, Funko teased the new limited edition pop! It’s clearly Hawk Girl.
