In this third volume of Street Fighter Classic, Ryu trains with the mysterious yoga master Dhalsim, while also encountering other powerful fighters as he travels to avenge his murdered master. Meanwhile, Chun-Li and Cammy are on a mission to uncover the dark secrets behind the Shadaloo Syndicate’s Doll Agents. The stakes couldn’t be higher or more personal, as Cammy herself is freed from her brainwashing as one of the dreaded Doll Agents.
If you’re already interested in Street Fighter Classic at this point, Volume 3 is a must-read. This work takes readers deep into the story behind the iconic 1v1 fighting game and does it with great artistic flair.
As I always stress, the story itself is pretty cheesy, functioning as a somewhat creepy melodrama-style tale, but Street Fighter fans will be more than satisfied with the lore here, and the art is always It’s amazing. Building on the foundation laid by Capcom’s character artists, these comics are arguably better examples of style over substance, but who cares when the style is this good? Is it?
I love the Street Fighter games, and I really enjoy these comic book versions. UDON understands the appeal of story and characters, and their passion for video games is evident on every page.
