Am I the one who found the wait for issue 10 of the anthology comic Quantum to be endless?
Now I’m not the only one feeling impatient, as the issue begins with editor Steve Tanner explaining the delay. That makes perfect sense given the number of pieces that need to be in place to get Quantum out into the world and into people’s hands. I am an avid reader, even on a bi-monthly schedule. Still, all good things come to those who wait, right? And since it’s always good to have a new issue of Quantum published, let’s take a look at what’s in the final issue of 2024.
The humor strip Dave vs AI comes first, talking about too much jam and also answering the question of how too much jam can be not enough jam. Hmm, jam.
Next up is Major Lakana. Something amazing happens. The Major, not known for backing down from a fight no matter how bad the odds, surrendered.
WesterNoir fills in part of Luther’s backstory with a dark and shocking tale of encounters with monsters.
In the cover story “The Very Strange Reappearance of Peter Thomson” we learn that Peter became part of the life of his dream girl, but not in the way he had hoped.
London is finally attacked, but who wants what? More importantly, will the Clockwork Cavalier be able to stop their reign of terror?
As always, Quantum is a consistently excellent read, with its strips containing an impressive variety of tones, styles, and genres. Let’s hope the stars align and we won’t have to wait so long for the next issue.
Quantum is available at WH Smith in the UK, as well as other comic shops and newsagents across the country. Or subscribe via Patreon here and get access to bonus goodies too.
