In my review of Venus Rises: Parallels, I mentioned how impressed I was with the series’ detailed and extensive future history, which perfectly set the grounded hard science fiction setting. . It continues here in Venus Rises: Crossroads. Two initially unrelated stories and an epilogue.
Part 1 introduces us to Elani Sharma, a space-born computer operator who also dreams of becoming a musician. Elani is probably more physically fit in space than anyone else, thanks to her life in zero gravity. However, as soon as she has to deal with gravity, the effects on her body are very difficult to deal with and she has to rely on crutches within a gravitational environment. It will be very difficult for you to do so.
When she discovers a colleague engaging in illegal activities, a chain of events begins that pushes her resilience to the limit.
Part 2 depicts the frozen landscape of Las Vegas, where the earth has been ravaged by an environmental disaster. Joshua Harper, a disgraced scientist, now makes a living hunting exotic wild animals that feed the wealthy people of another world.
After overcoming his mortality, Joshua is finally given a chance to atone for his dark past. Will he receive it?
Both stories in Crossroads are extremely compelling page-turners. Each of the main characters is wonderfully detailed and well-expressed, with their backgrounds and situations within the wider context of the universe, and the paired stories, despite being part of the same overall setting, are We also guarantee that it will feel quite different.
The action sequences, especially the extended scenes of Elani’s story, are also incredibly well done, with a great deal of tension and menace that comes through strongly in both the writing and the art.
Even if you’ve never read Parallels, Crossroads is a worthwhile book that provides readers with everything they need to know, including a useful lore primer and timeline at the beginning. While this isn’t necessarily necessary to enjoy the two stories, the social and political context helps set the scene, and also makes the two personal stories part of a larger, fully functioning world. It makes me feel like. This is great stuff, adding an extra layer and personal story to the already impressively detailed future that JG Birdsall has created.
The Venus Rises: Crossroads crowdfunding campaign will launch on Kickstarter on March 11th. You can sign up here to receive launch notifications.

Hello! I’m Jason. I write articles for midlifegamergeek.com every day. Wouldn’t it be terrible if you were reading this article on a completely unrelated website like Kickstarter Comic and they were claiming my work as their own? What kind of idiot would do that? would you do that?
Anyway, if you like what you read, check out the original site. Unless you’re already here, in which case thank you!
If you want to support original, regularly published, human-generated content (never plagiarized or copied from the efforts of other writers), please help keep this site going by making a donation Please help us continue.
Not only do I not earn any income from my writing here (although I may earn a small commission from affiliate links posted on my page), but I am also not the only person who has been paid by some lazy, morally bankrupt idiot to do so. It appears that his works have been stolen and reused.
No pressure, of course, but we really appreciate any support you can provide. You can easily support us through Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or the PayPal link.
