To date, the number of smart rings that provide one-line electrocardiograms in such small packages could be counted on one finger. Bodimetrics’ Circul+ debuted in 2021, but its heart monitoring features lacked style and didn’t look like a real ring. But today at CES 2025, Circular is unveiling a second-generation ring that promises to monitor your heart health.
I had a chance to see the ring today at CES Unveiled and it really shined. It’s also surprisingly lightweight. The sensor nodes inside the ring are noticeable when you first slide it over the ring, but after a minute or so of wearing it, it hardly feels like you’re wearing it.
According to the circular, the Ring 2 will feature improved sensors and the aforementioned ECG, 8-day battery life, and a better wireless charging dock. The company added that the companion app and AI have been completely redesigned to provide a “more intuitive and refined user experience.” Not to mention, the body is cast from titanium and comes in four color finishes. Gold, silver, black, rose gold.
This latest generation lacks the vibrations found in Circular’s first generation rings, but the company’s co-founder said vibrations will return in future versions. For now, the company says the second-generation ring will be in stores in February or March 2025, when it will cost $380.
