Google has released ChromeOS M130 to the stable channel. That means if you don’t already have a Chromebook, you’ll receive an update. The latest version of the OS has new features, including a focus panel that lets you quickly enable or disable Do Not Disturb, create new or select from existing Google tasks, and play music with focus. Equipped with a long list of. Sound or YouTube Music Premium (if you have a subscription). Google is also making it easier to insert emojis, GIFs, and even Google Drive links with the M130’s new launcher + f shortcut. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus’ Quick Insert physical key will be available on more devices launching next year.

To reduce the time needed to find a particular file, Google has added a “Suggestions” section to Tote. This space shows your recently downloaded items and latest screenshots. You’ll now have direct access to all starred drive files on your ChromeOS shelf, even when you’re offline. And if you want to pick up where you left off every time you turn on your computer, enable Welcome Review in Settings to preview and instantly restore apps and tabs from previous sessions.

If you use your Chromebook to record video or audio, Studio Style in ChromeOS M130 adds “advanced balance, detail reconstruction, and room adaptation” to the standard microphone features’ noise cancellation and dereverberation effects. You can use the microphone function. . You can also use Google’s AI-powered recorder app, which debuts with the new OS. The app includes speech-to-text features that create transcripts with labels for each speaker and summaries of recorded content.

ChromeOS M130 also integrates appearance effects into the platform’s video calling controls, adds support for multiple calendars, and lets you move picture-in-picture (PiP) windows to one side of the screen to free up space. Finally, if you have a Chromebook Plus device, you now have access to an AI-powered feature called “Help me read” that makes it easy to find information in the text you’re reading in the browser or gallery.
