In May, DC Comics is set to release a new absolute version of the Enfinal Crisis on Infinite Crisis on Infinite Earths events in February 2026. The iconic Issue 12 series from the legendary team of Marv Wolfman and George Pérez has been completely remastered and re-adopted for a new release, but the updates don’t stop at the interior of the book. Inker Jerry Ordway of the original series reconsidered Perez’s pencil for a large cover of the first collection edition of the series, originally drawn by Alex Roth for the release of the book. Now, the completed cover of the Ordway, colored with Jose Villarrubia, is revealed in its glory.

In a social media post this morning, Villarrubia revealed the covers of new versions by Pérez, Ordway and himself.
“I had the great joy of finishing the most complicated piece I’ve ever had,” Viralbia wrote in Bruski.
The pencil-painted cover features about 562 characters, all of the characters that appeared in the 12 Crisis. New versions decorating the updated crisis of the Infinite Earth: The absolute version matches much more closely with the artwork seen inside than the Loss paint version.

We’re talking about lovely crisis art, so just in case you’ve never seen it, here’s Perez’s dust jacket cover art from the absolute release of 2005. It’s unclear whether it will remain a cover for the new release, but it’s still a really great piece.
