The creative teams behind Americus and Wild Weather: Storms, Meterology, Climate are teaming up again for another series.
Written by MK Reed, illustrated by Jonathan Hill, and colored by Allie Drake, Budding Crisis was announced as part of the Comixology Originals slate at NYCC 2024. This is the first of five books to be released in just a few weeks this month. Published by Flavin, Volume 1 contains 29 pages.
The magical seeds obtained from the Onamante plant have the power to make any wish of the user come true. It seems too good to be true, and when a ship known as the Eclipse is robbed in Cygnus Bay, the Drenni must find them before it’s too late. They are extinct and each country is allotted only three seeds, so there is no longer a chance to find more. But in the process of searching for these seeds and the thief who stole them, they discover a conspiracy bigger than themselves.

Reed previously published Delver with Spike Trotman, also a Comixology original. Hill wrote and illustrated the graphic novel series Odessa, The Story of the Seventh Grade Lizard Boy, and the sequel, Lizard Boy 2: The Most Perfect Summer Ever.
