Titan Comics has announced Worst Man, the debut graphic novel from Brandt&Stein (Ted Brandt and Law Stein), co-creators of Crowded and Dynamite’s Darkwing Duck series. A satirical romantic comedy, the book is about a professional wedding crasher who is hired to ruin the marriage of a tech giant’s daughter and her partner. But when he develops feelings for his plucky best man, even blackmail proves not enough to stop him from changing his mind.

The official synopsis reads: “Rudd, a professional ‘worst man’, is hired by the mother of his bride, the ruthless tech mogul Valentina McElligott. The price of failure is his life, and with less than 32 hours until ‘I do’, Rudd is ready to do anything to stop the wedding and save his skin – until he meets the best man and beefcake, Chris Kafka.” He is determined to bring his best man closer. Because…erm…for purely professional reasons, Rudd quickly realizes that he may be on the wrong side of the aisle, and the only “mistakes” that need to be corrected are those of his own making, but with sick guests, tattered dresses, and the smell of intrigue wafting from Vol-au-Van, will it be too late for Radcliffe to get the ceremony back on track?

The producers say, “‘The Worst Man’ is a love letter: comedy, farce, crime story, and above all, love. There is nothing more human and beautiful than the connections that bind us and the bonds we make. We wanted to celebrate humanity in all its flawed and messy beauty. We wanted to laugh at our fears and doubts about intimacy and connection. And most of all, we wanted to have fun and create something fun.”

Editor Phoebe Hedges says, “The best word to describe The Worst Man is addictive. It’s a masterclass in how to juggle pacing and a rich ensemble cast. Blunt & Stein has long been a favorite of other writers. They were the secret ingredient to making a great book, and here they are the stars. Along with moments of belly laughs and toe-curling family drama, heart-melting sweet and often steamy romance awaits within the pages.”

“Worst Man” will be released on August 25, 2026, and will have 240 pages and retail for $24.99. Until then, you can check out a three-page preview without text below.
